Our story and passion for authentic Nigerian cuisine
Ala-Owerri Kitchen was founded in 2020 with a simple mission: to bring the authentic flavors of Owerri, Nigeria to Calgary. Our founder, a native of Owerri, noticed the lack of truly authentic Nigerian cuisine in the city and decided to change that.
Starting as a small home-based kitchen, we've grown through word-of-mouth and the support of Airdrie & Calgary's Nigerian community. While we remain a ghost kitchen focused on delivery and pickup, our commitment to quality and authenticity has never wavered.
At Ala-Owerri Kitchen, we believe food should transport you. Every dish is prepared using traditional recipes passed down through generations, with the freshest ingredients and authentic Nigerian cooking techniques.
We don't cut corners - our soups are made from scratch, our spices are freshly ground, and our meats are carefully selected and prepared. This attention to detail is what makes our food stand out.
We stay true to traditional Nigerian recipes and cooking methods, ensuring every dish tastes just like it would in Nigeria.
Only the freshest ingredients make it into our kitchen. We source locally when possible and import specialty items directly from Nigeria.
We're proud to serve Airdrie & Calgary's Nigerian community and introduce Nigerian cuisine to new audiences.
